Zoran Nikolovski passed away on August 30, 2025, leaving behind his wife of 50 years, Marija Zibilich Nikolovski; daughters Lorita Nikolovski-Gaubert and Angie Nikolovski-Rogers (Elmer); one young granddaughter; sister-inlaw Cecilia Rilovich (Pavo); nephew Robert Rilovich (Sanja); and niece Mathilda Rilovich. He was preceded in death by parents Trajko Nikolovski and Marika Josmova-Nikolovski; brother Alexander Nikolovski from Skopje, Republic of North Macedonia; and son-in-law Roddy Gaubert of Harvey, LA. Zoran was born and raised in Zagreb, Croatia (former Yugoslavia) and later moved to Zadar, Croatia, where his father worked as a major in the Military Air Force. Zoran finished his technical degree and became an Electrician. He met his wife Marija in Zadar where she was a young college student studying to become a Professor.
After his father retired, his parents moved to Skopje; once Zoran got married, he and Marija joined them. Zoran worked for a major electric company as an Electrician Supervisor. In 1981 he came to the U.S. with his wife and their young daughter; three years later they had another baby girl. Zoran then worked as a Oyster Fisherman and lived in Emipre, LA for 24 years. After Hurricane Katrina the family lived in Chalmette, LA, and then Gretna, LA, which became their permanent residence. Zoran loved his native Croatia and was very proud of his Old Macedonian heritage. He loved his family and friends and was always ready to help. Although his life was very hard and full of misfortune, suffering, and illness, Zoran was very strong, positive, and brave. He never wanted to give up. Family and friends were invited to his Celebration of Life on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA 70056. Mothe will be taking care of all arrangements during his family's difficult time.
