It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Somvang “Vang” Chanthasalo, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather; who peacefully left us at the age of 69. He is survived by his beloved wife, Thipphavanh Chanthasalo; his children, David Chanthasalo (Jessica Corzo), Diane Chanthasalo and Diana Chanthasalo; his three sisters; four brothers; grandchildren, Kayla, Christian, Anthony, Karlie, Bella and Micah; and great-grandchild Kaden. As a mechanic, Vang was known for his skill and dedication to his work, always with a keen eye for detail and a love for all things automotive.
Whetherhewasunderthehoodofacar, or tinkering with an engine, he found joy in fixing what was broken and bringing things back to life. Outside of his work, he had a wide range of interests that brought him great happiness. He was an avid fisherman, car enthusiast, and hunter -- always relishing the time spent outdoors. He also found peace in gardening, where he took pride in watching his plants grow and flourish. But, beyond his hobbies, it was Vang's joyful spirit that truly defined him. He had a smile for everyone and a heart full of laughter. He loved to drink, party, and, most importantly, be surrounded by his family and friends. His home was a place of warmth and welcoming, and, no matter where he went, he was the life of the party, always sharing stories and making others smile. Though he is gone, his joyful spirit, infectious smile and love for life will remain with us always.
