It is with a heavy heart that I write about the passing of my mother, my biggest supporter and daddy’s forever love, on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, after a horrible battle with dementia. Patricia leaves behind her beloved husband of 67 years, Ernest J. Guerra, daughter Vonda Guerra Palazzolo, son in law Russell Palazzolo Jr., amazing grandchildren Russell P. Palazzolo III and Anthony J Palazzolo (Grace), and loving great-grandchildren Kingston Palazzolo and Raynie Palazzolo. Born February 13, 1941, to Anthony and Thelma Licciardi, that await her at the gates of heaven. She also leaves behind sisters, Carol and Karen, and late brother Anthony Licciardi along with a host of nieces and nephews. Patricia started her career as a beautician at a small beauty shop alongside her mother in Arabi, then worked at Schwegmann’s on Chef Hwy as a beautician before moving to her forever shop in Georgia’s Beauty Salon in Chalmette, where every lady there became family. Patricia was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church and school community for many years with her family always sitting in the same seats at mass for years. As the Grandkids arrived & started school at St. Marks Catholic school and church in Chalmette, she was Grandma on watch, living across the street from the playground and loved seeing her Grandkids daily. After Katrina, St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and school was our new home for church as we attended weekly! Now Mom is greeted here by our Lord to be our Angel above. I would like to praise the caretakers that have helped me over the past 4 years tending to my parents every need. Home Instead matched us with amazing ladies that we have come to love. I do not know what I would have done without their assistance. In December we moved mom and dad to Summerhouse Park Provence to get 24-hour care that they needed, immediately becoming the place that dad especially liked, always saying that these ladies were so nice, they take such great care of us, and the food is amazing. The kindness of Dr Marc Bernstein and his loving staff, St. Joseph Hospice and Stat Home Health have been a blessing to us all! Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1050 Robert Blvd, Slidell, LA on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. Visitation on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 8:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. until funeral time. Father Jorge Gomez officiating. Interment in Southeast Louisiana Veterans cemetery at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Association.
