Numa E. Dennis Jr

Numa E. Dennis Jr., age 81, a cherished father, Veteran, and respected businessman, passed away on May 8, 2025. A resident of Slidell, Louisiana, and former resident of St. Bernard Parish, Numa was born on August 28, 1943 in New Orleans. His life was a testament to his strength, work ethic, and dedication to his community. Numa bravely served his country in the United States Army before establishing a successful career as a skilled welder. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to found JR's Iron Works, a company that not only showcased his craftsmanship but also provided for his family and created jobs within his community. Numa's professional legacy is one of integrity and excellence, values he upheld in every project and relationship. Beyond his professional endeavors, Numa was an active member of the Huerstels Social Club, where he enjoyed camaraderie and engaging in the club's activities. His love for fishing was more than a hobby; it was a passion that brought him tranquility and joy, especially when shared with friends and family. Numa was predeceased by his beloved spouse, Veronica Dennis; his parents, Numa Dennis Sr. and Jane Dennis; and his brother, Charlie Dennis. He is survived by his daughter, Shawn Marie Dennis- Withers (Roland), who will continue to honor his legacy by living out the values he instilled in her. Numa's life was a beautiful tapestry of service, family, and community. His unwavering spirit and the love he had for those around him will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him, and his contributions to his community will stand as a lasting tribute to a life well-lived.
