Lionel Gerald Ducote, Sr., of Pearl River, La., passed away on May 19, 2024, at the age of 75. He was a native of New Orleans, La., and born on November 21, 1948. Lionel was preceded in death by his parents, Emmet Ducote and Mary Ducote, and four siblings, Emmet Ducote Jr., Gayles Giroir, Mary Ann DeArmas, and Eddie Ducote. Lionel is the beloved husband of 57 years to Angelina Ducote; cherished father of Lionel Gerald Ducote Jr., Holly Anglade (Joe), and Sheila Lafontaine (Timmy); proud grandfather of Blake Lee Ducote, Nicholas George Pinterick, Cory Reis, Tori Lynn Chappell, Austin Ducote, Alex Jean Lambert, Cole Lionel Pinterick, Paul Joseph Pineda, Braelei Ducote, Taytum Ducote, and Kielyn Ducote; and adored brother of Vincent Ducote, Robert Ducote, Raymond Ducote, and Donald Ducote. He also leaves behind nine great-grandchildren and a host of extended family members and friends, all of whom he loved greatly. Lionel's professional life was marked by dedication and excellence. He spent his career at Chrysler Dodge, where he retired as a respected body shop manager. His work not only showcased his exceptional skills but also his innate ability to lead and inspire those around him. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Lionel was a man of diverse interests and talents. An avid landscaper, he took great pride in creating beauty in his surroundings, a skill that brought joy to many. His love for fishing echoed his appreciation for the tranquility and bounty of nature. Lionel was also a skilled carpenter, a hobby that allowed him to express his creativity and craftsmanship. His passion for the outdoors was only matched by his dedication to collecting coins, a pursuit that reflected his appreciation for history and the stories held within each piece.
