Judy Ann Couvillion Labat

Judy Ann Couvillion Labat peacefully passed away on July 28, 2025, at the age of 82. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Robert Thomas Labat, and her grandson, Jerritt Ray Labat. Judy was the cherished mother of Roxanne Labat and the proud great-grandmother of Remi Rose Nunez. She was a proud graduate of Chalmette High School. Together with Robert, Judy owned and operated Judy Country Kitchen for 12 years, and later retired from the La Richelieu Hotel after 15 dedicated years of service. A creative soul, Judy enjoyed arts and crafts and was an accomplished seamstress. In her younger years, she had a passion for gardening and loved spending time with her friends. Her home was always a welcoming place—full of laughter, love, and delicious food. The youngest daughter of Cilton and Dorothy Couvillion, Judy was preceded in death by her brother, Cliton Couvillion/Tini, and sister, Barbara Gremillion/Harris. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as a circle of friends who were blessed to know her vibrant spirit. Judy had a deep love for her family and would go to any length to support them. She also adored her pets, Drew Drew, her precious dog, and Shadow, her loving cat. Judy was renowned for making the best gumbo and was a gifted cook. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no formal service or celebration of life. Judy's memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
