Mr. Joseph L. Douglas, Sr., entered eternal life at home surrounded by his family on Monday, September 2, 2024 at the age of 74. A native of Violet, La., Joseph was born on March 1, 1950 to the late Daniel and Mary Douglas. He was educated in the St. Bernard Public School System and accepted Christ at an early age. In addition to his parents, Mr. Douglas is also preceded in death by his wife, Leah L. Douglas; sons, Joseph Douglas, Jr. and Darnell Stewart, as well as twelve siblings. He leaves to cherish precious memories, children, Nicole Gilbert (Carlos), Kimberly Young (Brian), Jason Douglas and Dinah King (Kenya); also father of Semaj, Jayda and Jeffrie Douglas; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, godchild, Kedra Bienemy and a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends attended a celebration service honoring the life and legacy of the late Mr. Joseph L Douglas, Sr., was held on Friday, September 27, 2024 at Celebration Church-Lower St. Bernard Campus, 5709 E.
