John Paul Esler Sr., 35, passed away on January 29, 2025, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Born on November 30, 1989, in the same city he called home throughout his life. A devoted father, John cherished every moment with his children, John Paul Esler Jr. and Abigail Elise Esler. John was a talented carpenter and a true handyman at heart. Whether it was restoring an old piece of furniture or tinkering under the hood of a car, he found joy in working with his hands. His passion for cars and craftsmanship was matched only by his sense of humor and his ability to bring lightness to any situation. He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Susan St. Clair Esler; his father, Barry Paul Esler Jr.; his sister, Kim Marie Esler; and his brother, Kevin David Esler. He was preceded in death by his brother Barry John Esler. John’s legacy lives on through the many things he built—both tangible and intangible— and through the memories held dear by those who knew him best.
