John Darrell Dueitt passed away December 28, 2024, at his childhood home in Greene County, Mississippi at the age of 82. University of Southern Mississippi was his alma mater, where he graduated with a degree in chemistry in 1964. He retired from ExxonMobil in 2000 as a chief chemist at the Chalmette oil re_nery. He greatly enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting and _shing, but most importantly he loved and supported his family. He will be greatly missed by all who know him.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Dueitt; daughter, Ashley Ann Dueitt Mire; parents, Edward Poole and Lillian Carrie Dueitt; and siblings, Alyeene Creech, Earl Dueitt, Max Dueitt, rman Dueitt, and Willie Rae Hicks. se left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Elizabeth Ann “Beth” (Marty) Munley; grandchildren, Lauren Alexandra (Owen) Chambers, Brandon Charles Munley and Anna Claire Munley; great granddaughter, Leilani Savoy; brotherin- law and lifelong friend, Larry Cornelson; signi_cant other, Beverly Cosse; numerous other relatives and friends. visitation for John Dueitt will be Monday, January 6, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Moments Funeral Home in Leakesville. funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Teryl Hebert o_ciating. burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah United Pentecostal Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include: Brandon Munley, Owen Chambers, Stacey Dueitt, Kirk Dueitt, Dylan Clark, Brent Newman; Honorary bearers include Larry Cornelson, Marty Munley, Joe Ghignone, Ed Dueitt, Gary Hicks, and Ricky Creech.
