Janice Delores Shuff

Janice Delores Shu_, born September 2, 1949, passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband and children on December 25, 2024, in Picayune, MS. Janice was preceded in death by her parents James and Wandia Holmes, siblings Lewis Holmes, Fred Holmes, and Jimmy Holmes, and her daughter Angelina Alfonso. She is survived by her husband Charles Shu_, siblings Wanzie Taylor (Glen), James Holmes (Corliss), two children Terry L. Alfonso (Tracy) and Jennifer Chartier (Al), seven grandchildren Allie Ashford (Christian), Trevar Alfonso, Caleb Alfonso, Kayla Chartier, Alvin Chartier, Sophie Chartier, Luke Chartier, two great-grandchildren Kyler Ashford, Amara Ashford, and numerous nieces and nephews. Janice lived an exciting life _lled with adventure and travel. 

She was born in Biloxi, MS but raised in St. Bernard Parish, LA. Her _rst career was as a beautician owning her own beauty salon. Her desire for adventure and a better life led her to become a card dealer on the Las Vegas stip. She was an avid windsurfer and went to the Windsur_ng World Championship in the Bahamas. Her latter years were spent married to her childhood sweetheart in her dream home on the lake. Her pleasure came from her grandchildren, great grandchildren, gardening, and time spent playing cards with family and friends. Janice will be sadly missed by all who knew her but her legacy lives on through the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren for whom she was so proud. A celebration of life service will be held on January 11, 2025, at 3 p.m. at Journey Fellowship Church, 1460 Lindberg Drive, Slidell, LA
