With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Francibel 'Lita' Tablas Bobadilla, beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, at the age of 90. Lita leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and resilience. She is survived by her children, Doris T. Bobadilla (Deana Jacob), Rachel M. Bobadilla; her grandchildren, Eileen J. Benton, Rebecca T. Benton, Andres B. Jacob, Lilia B. Jacob; her siblings, Dalila Teresa Cangelosi, Yolanda Alvarez, Saul Aguilar and Conrado Aguilar; her son-in-love, Scott Benton; also loved by Lorraine Rivera (D), Lawrence Cangelosi (D), Anthony Cangelosi, Maria Elias (D), Carol Jessie, Mark Elias, Irene Bienemy, Sonia Guerrera, Tayler Cangelosi, Rene Rivera Sr., Rene Rivera Jr., and Nicholas Brenson. She is preceded in death by her husband, Mauro V. Bobadilla Sr.; her son, Mauro V. Bobadilla Jr.; her parents, Herminia Santos Flores and Hector Lizandro Tablas; her siblings, J. Vilma Cruz, Ricarda Caleron and Rolando Estrada. Born in Honduras, Lita dreamed of a better life in the United States from an early age. Through hard work and determination, she worked at a pharmacy and helped her grandmother with her business to save enough money to make that dream come true. At 21, she arrived in the U.S., filled with hope and ambition. She came to Louisiana and met the love of her life. Together they shared a passion for dancing and music. Lita was a proud graduate of Instituto Maria Auxiliadora. She worked as a hairstylist at the Roosevelt Hotel before opening her own beauty salon. After decades of hard work, she retired at 70. She had built a successful business that supported her family and brought joy to so many others. Throughout her life, she was known for the love she had for her family, good friends and her infectious smile. She raised her children with love, wisdom, and a strong sense of ambition. Her example will continue to inspire her family for generations to come. In her later years, Lita was blessed to have the compassionate care of Rehab Dynamics Physical Therapy and the devoted attendants, Ruth, Leticia, and Lisa, who gave her care and comfort in her final years. Her family, always by her side, provided unwavering love and support. May she rest in peace, and may her memory continue to inspire all who knew her. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at Our Lady Of Prompt Succor Church, 2320 Paris Road., Chalmette, LA on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. A Mass will begin at 12 p.m. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
