Elsie Rider Markert, of Schriever, La., passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024 at the age of 100. She was the beloved daughter of the late Howard Rider and Lucy Serpas Rider. Wife of the late Frank Markert. Loving sister of the late Lelia R. Gutierrez (Lloyd), Paul Rider (Rita) and Ione R. Falgout (Ray). She is survived and fondly remembered by nieces, nephews and friends. She attended Maumas High School, Class of 1942. She worked for Shell Oil as a Communications Supervisor. Elsie moved to from Chalmette, Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina to Schriver, Louisiana. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation from 10 a.m. to 12 noon followed by a Mass starting at 12 noon on Monday, October 21, 2024 to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home & Gardens, 701 W Virtue St., in Chalmette, La.
