Dennis S. Couvillon

Dennis S. Couvillon passed away at his home on Monday, June 29, 2026 at the age of 75. He leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a legacy built on family, friendship, laughter, and love. A devoted husband for more than 20 years to his beloved wife, Martina Wiggins-Couvillon, he found great joy in traveling by her side and making memories together. He was proud father to his sons, whom he loved deeply and supported throughout their lives. Dennis was a man who truly enjoyed life's simple pleasures. Whether he was throwing darts with friends, following horse racing, cheering on his favorite football team, or sharing stories about the 'good old days,' he had a way of bringing people together. His colorful jokes and quick wit could brighten any room, and those who knew him will always remember his ability to make people laugh. He was passionate about giving back to his community through coaching Park League baseball, where he helped mentor countless young players. He believed in teamwork, sportsmanship, and encouraging every child to do their best. As the former owner of Cy's Bar, he built lasting friendships with many people over the years. To him, customers quickly became friends, and everyone was welcomed with a smile, a story or a joke. Above all else, his greatest joy was his family. Nothing made him happier than sitting in the stands, proudly watching his grandchildren compete in their sporting events. He was their biggest fan, celebrating every victory and encouraging them through every challenge. He leaves behind his loving wife, Martina Wiggins-Couvillon; his sons, Ryan Couvillon (Cherie) Dennis Couvillon (Jamie), Talon Wiggins and Troy Powell; his cherished grandchildren, Taylor Couvillon, Ethan Couvillon and Gavin Couvillon; his sisters-in-law & brothers- in-law, Belinda Schumaker (Fred), Cheryl Wiggins, Dolores Jones, Vincent Ferrara and Clarence Wiggins; his former spouse, Jackie Couvillon and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness, humor, and generous spirit. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Adolph Couvillon and Greta Couvillon; his sister Sandra Borne (Glen). Though he will be deeply missed, his stories, laughter, and unwavering love for his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His memory will forever remind us to enjoy life, cherish time with loved ones, and never miss an opportunity to share a good laugh. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, July 10, 2026 from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM.
