Darren Louis Schallenberg, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on March 21, 2026, at the age of 59. He was born on March 10, 1967, in Chalmette, Louisiana, to the late Bonnie and Herman Schallenberg. Darren's life was rich with love and laughter, shared with his significant other, Shannon Neal. Together, they created a blended family that was a source of immense pride and joy. He was a loving father to Renee Schallenberg (Steven Tresch), Seth Schallenberg (Erica), Miranda Juneau (Christopher Braun), Darren Schallenberg (Mollie Suprean), Skylar Schallenberg, Brittany Neal (Ryan Shelley), and Brandon Neal (Emily). His role as a grandfather to Liam, Cole, Cali, Violet, Ava, Kasey, Braelynn, Bryleigh, Brooklyn, and Briella was one he cherished deeply. He is also survived by two brothers, Jeff and Herman Schallenberg, as well as a host of extended family members, all of whom he loved greatly. A graduate of Chalmette High School, Darren was a roofer by trade. He established Darren Schallenberg's Roofing, a business that not only served the community but also stood as a symbol of his integrity and commitment to excellence. A man of many interests, Darren was an avid golfer. The golf course was his sanctuary, a place where he found peace and companionship. Darren has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him, and his memory will be treasured forever.
