Bruce Anthony “BooBoo” Bailey entered into rest on Monday, January 13, 2025, at the age of 72. Bruce was born on February 29, 1952, in Meraux, Louisiana to the late James Sr., and Beatrice Calvin Bailey. Bruce was educated at Violet Consolidate School. After the passing of his mother, he moved to Austin, Texas and Houston Texas and lived there for 38 years. He worked for Freeman Decorator Company where he was known by the nickname “Skywalker” because of his height. Bruce is survived by one daughter Nicole Reddick, four siblings: Carol Nelson, Francine (Ernest) Holland, Claudia (the late) Frank Johnson, Hynes (Brenda) Bailey, god-daughter; Michele Landry and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents James Sr., and Beatrice Calvin Bailey, Willis (Bernice) Rucker, James Jr (Dianne), Joseph (Theresa), Ronnie (Dianne) Bailey, Joyce (Jerry) Webster, Linda (Ronald) Banks, the late Ernest (Audrey) Bailey, Frankie and Audrey Bailey. Family, friends, and all neighborhood churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, February 1, 2025, for 11 a.m. at First Asia Baptist Church, 2408 Walker Lane, Meraux, LA.
