Ruby Margaret Corley passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on March 4, 1947, she was a native of New Orleans and a lifelong resident of Chalmette, LA. Ruby is preceded in death by her parents Ruby Duhe, Joseph Plunkett, stepfather Marcel Duhe and stepmother Catherine Plunkett; brothers Joseph and Dennis Plunkett; and sisters Candice Zeairs and Gwen Mireles. Ruby was employed by Iron Mountain for 17 years, where she formed many great friendships. After retiring from Iron Mountain, she enjoyed meeting people while working in the transportation industry, driving clients to and from the airport. She enjoyed her trips to the beach with family and trips to the casino with friends.
The family is sure that Ruby has already found her perfect slot machine. Her love for the Saints began when she attended the first Saints game in 1967. She was a die-hard Who Dat and LSU Tiger fan. Everyone who knew her, loved her. Ruby is survived by her five children, Connie, Sissy (Carey), Ray (Angie), Jamie (Stephen) and Mandi (Darren). Her greatest title was that of “Maw Maw Ruby.” She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Kelly, Derek (Kristen), Caitlin (Eric), Jill (Chris), Brandon, Sumiko, Angelle, Krystal, Natalia, Blaine (Evan), Blake (Malia), Mallory, Mason, Maleah, Marissa, Trey, Ashley, Darren, Deacon, Demi, Natalie (Steven), Seyi (Jordin), and Madison. And her great grandchildren Kylee, Nathan, Myles, Madden, Blayze, Emma, Brandon Jr., Evelyn, Caspian, Cameron, Ava, Jace, Faeleigh, Silas, Nina, Dakota, Rae and two beautiful great granddaughters on the way. She is survived by brothers Marcel (Dana) Duhe, William (Patty) Plunkett and Patrick Plunkett; stepchildren Kim and Dale; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation, held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd W, Slidell, La 70460 on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. with a Catholic Mass to follow.
