Betty Ursula Ragas Crawford passed away in her home on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, in Chalmette, Louisiana, at the age of 92. Betty Crawford is the wife of the late Michael Crawford, Sr. She is survived by her four children, Kathleen Crawford Bankston (Leo) (deceased), Janet Crawford Schaff (Gene), Michael Crawford Jr. (Susan), and Patrick Crawford (Kathy). She had six grandchildren - Jason Bankston, Brian Bankston (Stacy), and Colleen Crawford Guidry (Rusty), Craig Crawford (Aline), Stephen Bradley Crawford (deceased), and Rachael Schaff Hissong (step-granddaughter). She also has eleven great-grandchildren – Trent Bankston, Lara Bankston, Paige Bankston, Hanna Bankston, Kaylee Guidry, Lindsey Guidry, Emily Guidry, Allie Crawford, Stephen Crawford, Clay Crawford, and Nathan Hissong (step-greatgrandson). Betty also had one great-great-grandson, James Walker. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Betty was born in New Orleans to Jacques Villere Ragas and Irene Schroeder Ragas on October 15, 1932. She had 3 Sisters: Audrey Lange, Jacqueline Durand, and Lois Tinney (all deceased). She worked at Roberson Advertising. Betty loved spending time with her family, making puzzles, traveling, and playing cards. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. All family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church at 2320 Paris Road., Chalmette, LA 70043 on Tuesday, September 9th, 2025, where Betty was an active parishioner. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, with Mass to follow from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
