Victoria Rose Ardoin, age 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 30, 2024, after a brave battle with lung cancer. She was born on June 6, 1941, in New Orleans, LA, to Gertrude and Dominick Laurie. Vickie was a beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, who touched the lives of many with her kindness, wit, and charm. Vickie was a longtime resident of Chalmette, LA, where she lived in the Buccaneer Villa North neighborhood for many years. She also spent a brief time in Orlando, FL, before retiring to New Orleans. Following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, Vickie relocated to Dallas, TX, where she lived for three years with her nephew, Leo (Tony). She later returned to Chalmette, where she resided until her passing. A true New Orleans native, Vickie was known for her no-nonsense attitude, strong will, and her ability to speak her mind with honesty. She had a strong personality that drew people to her, and she never hesitated to offer a helping hand or a word of wisdom. Her family, friends, and all who knew her will remember her as a classy lady who loved deeply and lived life fully. Vickie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wilson Ardoin, and is survived by her sister, Elda Marrero (Calvin), along with a host of nieces and nephews: Bobby, Steve, Leo, Kay, Jonathan, Ben, Gary, and Peggy, who will all carry forward the memory of her warmth and resilience. Family and friends gathered to celebrate Vickie’s life on Saturday, February 1st in Chalmette, LA. Vickie’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
