Richard Wayne “Dicky” Carbo

Richard Wayne “Dicky” Carbo passed away at home surrounded by his family, on January 1, 2025, in Gulfport, MS at the age of 76. Born on July 31, 1948, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Harold Carbo and Dewilla Cutrer Carbo, Dicky led a life full of accomplishments and passions. He was of Baptist faith and a member of Harvest Church in Gulfport. He attended Chalmette High School in Chalmette, LA, where he played football for the Fighting Owls. Later, he graduated with a degree in drafting. Dicky began his working life at the young age of 13 at Winn Dixie, where he continued to work throughout high school. After graduating, he married, started a family, and earned his degree. His dedication and hard work saw him rise through the ranks, eventually retiring as a district manager. Dicky was a talented woodworker, capable of building anything. He had a love for deer hunting, collecting antiques, and old cars. In his younger years, he enjoyed golfing and playing football. He is preceded in death by his mother, Dewilla Cutrer Carbo; father, Harold Carbo; and stepmother, Claire Carbo. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Debbie Garner Carbo; four children, Richard Wayne Carbo Jr., Rebecca Lynn Jordan (Cody), Ryan Carbo (Monica), Courtney Carbo (Darren Slade); grandchildren, Hayden Carbo, Kyle Carbo, Clint Carbo, Emily McCray, Ethan Quintanilla, Rachel Pecót, Alexandria, Joshua, Damien, Mason Pierce; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Carbo Jr. (Susan); a host of nieces and nephews; and former spouse and the mother of 3 of his children, Helen Carbo.
