Cynthia Ann Walker Sausse went to her eternal rest on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, following a long, bravely fought battle with Cancer at the age of 73. Cynthia grew up in New Orleans East and was a graduate of Marian Abramson High School. She moved to Violet to support her family where she resided the last 24 years. She enjoyed family gatherings, arts and crafts, sewing, old movies/TV, studying genealogy, and loved weekend visits to the Gulf Coast casinos with her late husband, Bert. Cynthia was preceded in death by her husband, Bertrand Bernard Sausse, Jr., her parents, Elmo Walker Sr. and Jeannette (Lyle) Walker, her brother, Elmo Walker, Jr. and brothers-in-law Larry Laurie, Charlie Wilson and Jacky Bruce. She is survived by her children, Bertrand Sausse, III and wife Brandy, Brian Sausse, and Daryl Sausse and partner Ashley; her grandchildren, Victoria Sausse, Bailey Sausse, Benjamin Sausse; her great-grandson Rowan Landry; her siblings, Debra (Walker) Bruce (partner Joe), and Robert Walker; her sisters-in-law, Dorian Walker, Janis Walker, Sheri Sausse, Sandy (Sausse) Laurie, and Susan (Sausse) Wilson and by many beloved, nieces and nephews. The family is grateful for the love and care of the Heart of Hospice team for their support of both Cynthia and her late husband Bert. Relatives and friends attended a Visitation followed by a Catholic Mass held on Wednesday October 30 at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., in New Orleans, La.
