Cecil Pershing Crowell Jr. passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the age of 83. He was the beloved husband of Helen Pomes Crowell for 63 wonderful years. Father of Edward Crowell, Melissa C. Stutts and the late Christopher Crowell. Son of the late Cecil Crowell Sr. and Lorine Bradley Crowell. Brother of the late Mildred Crowell Winters. Proud grandfather of Brent Crowell, Kevin Stutts and Kaitlin Stutts. He is also survived and fondly remembered by many relatives, cousins and dear friends. Born in New Orleans, La., Cecil was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish before settling in Picayune, Miss.
He dedicated much of his life to a rewarding career as a plumber, a profession he took great pride in. He cherished the moments spent fishing with his father-in-law and was an avid bowler, enjoying both the game and the challenge it brought. He loved engaging in conversations about his extensive plumbing experience and sharing stories about his children and grandchildren. A true family man, Cecil found joy in being surrounded by loved ones, taking delight in the details of everyday life, and supporting his children in their sports activities. His warm personality and genuine interest in others meant he loved striking up a conversation with nearly anyone he met. Cecil's loving spirit and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
