Anthony Louis Henry, Sr., our beloved Poppy, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on the morning of October 12, 2024. Anthony leaves behind a legacy of family and friends who adored him. Born in New Orleans, in 1946, Anthony will be fondly remembered as a man of faith, family, and fun. Above all, he loved Jesus, and his loved ones are comforted by knowing he is rejoicing in Heaven. A devoted family man, Anthony’s unwavering love and dedication to his family will live on in the lives of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Rhonda Haran (Robert), Tony Henry (Raynell), and Jason Henry; his grandchildren, Taylor Miller (Karl), Mallory Callahan (Chris), Hunter Haran and Matthew Henry as well as his great-grandchildren Elleanna and Riley Kate. He was predeceased by his mother Rita, father Louis, and sister Patricia.
Anthony is also survived by his beloved siblings, his sister Betty Jane, Barbara, and his brother Richard. Anthony enjoyed a long and rewarding career with Intercontinental Hotels both in New Orleans and Atlanta. As a young man, he served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by a Funeral starting at 11 a.m. to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, La., on Friday, October 25, 2024. He will be laid to eternal rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in honor of Anthony who loved his country and was a regular contributor to both organizations.
