Loretta Anne Cervini Guidroz

Loretta Anne Cervini Guidroz passed away peacefully in her sleep at her new home in Conroe, Texas, on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at the age of 74. She was born on March 24, 1950, in New Orleans, La., to the late Arthur Milton Cervini and the late Anne Percy Cervini. Loretta is the devoted wife of Edwin Wallace Guidroz, Jr. since December 14, 1968, and daughter- in-law of the late Edwin Wallace Guidroz, Sr. and late Mabel Guidroz Flott. She was the beloved niece of Carol Mary Cervini, a loving mother to Lisa Marie Guidroz and Steven Michael Guidroz (Brandy), and proud grandmother to Justin J. Guidroz, Cade E. Guidroz, and Elodie G. Guidroz. She is survived by her brother David M. Cervini (Cindy) and their daughter Julia, sister Colleen C. Burke, and was predeceased by her brother Michael Cervini. She was the sister-in-law of Ronald Guidroz (Trudy), Linda Mixon (Jerry), the late Deborah Ducoing (Sean), Kathy Perez (David), Sandra Hingle (Keith), Gail Hoffman, Jonette Evans (Johnny), Leonard Guidroz, Warren Guidroz (Charlotte), Suzanne Guidroz (Rocky), Kenneth P. Guidroz, and Lori Guidroz (Rodney). 

Loretta is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Loretta also cherished her extended family, including Jason, Kerri, and Celle Travis. Loretta grew up on Frenchman Street and lived in Chalmette, Louisiana, until Hurricane Katrina prompted her relocation to Texas. She attended Our Lady Star of the Sea and Andrew Jackson High School. Loretta enjoyed a 35-year career at BellSouth Telecommunications (AT&T) and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She loved her family, cooking, and entertaining family, friends, and strangers alike. Loretta was a devoted dog lover and mom to three fur babies, Luke, Winston, and sometimes Oliver. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation starting at 11 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 1 p.m. on Friday October 18, 2024 to be held at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St., in New Orleans, La. Interment: St. Patrick Cemetery #2, New Orleans, La. In lieu of flowers, please dedicate masses in her name or donate to your local animal shelter.
