Michael Joseph Brossette passed away suddenly on June 27, 2024, at his home in Houma, LA, at the 59. Michael was a resident of Arabi, LA until his 40th year, when he settled in Houma after Hurricane Katrina. He attended Chalmette High School where he served as valedictorian and was a star member of Chalmette’s football team. He went on to graduate from Tulane University in New Orleans. He was the beloved son of Justin Wilfred Brossette, Sr. (deceased) and Elizabeth Crochet Brossette (deceased). Brother of Paula Brossette Dunne; Justin Wilfred Brossette, Jr. (Kathleen); and the late Lynette Brossette Nagel (deceased). Uncle to his only niece Anna Dunne Reilly. Michael was a kind and intelligent person with many talents and interests, including a stint on Jeopardy; his work as a reporter for the Tri-Parish Times; an actor in Arabi’s Community Theater and Houma’s Le Petite Theater, as well as membership in several clubs around Houma, including writing, critiquing, and trivia groups. Michael made an impact on his family and friends, for which he will be remembered and sorely missed. Relatives and friends attended a memorial gathering held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, July 6, 2024, followed by a funeral service in Michael's memory. He was laid to eternal rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
