Vaughn M. Kleinschmidt entered eternal rest on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at the age of 74. Son of the late Alvin and Bertha Kleinschmidt and brother of the late Kelvin Kleinschmidt. He is loved and missed by his daughter Jennifer A. Kleinschmidt and Michelle M. Villavaso (Brian), and his grandchildren Morgan and Luke Villavaso, who brought him great joy. Vaughn was born in New Orleans and grew up mostly in Chalmette, La. He was a veteran and honorably served in the US Navy during Vietnam. He raised a family in Harvey, La., and after a 30-plus year career with Bell South, he retired to Diamondhead, Ms., and later Slidell, La. Vaughn never met a stranger and greatly enjoyed joking around with everyone. In addition to spending time with his grandkids, Vaughn enjoyed golf, fishing, and the Gulf Coast. Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., in New Orleans, La., followed by a Mass at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
