Doris Bourg Creger passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Philip George Creger. Daughter of the late Cecile Lods Bourg and Sylvester Theodule Bourg. Sister of Billie Bourg Roman (the late JC), Barbara Bourg Capdepon (Charles) and the late Elise Bourg Munch and Audrey Bourg. She is also survived and fondly remembered by her sister-in-law, Gayle Pizzatola (who lives near Atlanta but kept in touch with Doris over many, many years); brother-in-law, John Edward Creger; and her close friends, Bill & Bobbie Kitto (who never wavered in their support). Loving aunt of her nephew Joey Roman and his wife Judy (who very thoughtfully kept us in touch with Doris through his phone and other reports); and her niece and husband Lisa and Louis Demarest (who did so much for her in the last few years of her life) – along with a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. Doris was born on June 9, 1933 in New Orleans, LA and lived most of her life in Chalmette, LA where she was proudly honored as the Queen of the Arabi Carnival Krewe in 1980. Doris was an employee of Western Electric and retired after 30 plus years. Her love, kindness and generosity will be deeply missed by us all. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., in Chalmette, La., on Friday, May 24, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A Funeral Mass will begin at 1 p.m. Doris will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Doris to the St. Bernard Animal Control Unit at 5455 E Judge Perez Dr., Violet, LA 70092, or the St. Anthony Poor Box in the church of your choice.
