Gloria Marie Harris Simmons of Algiers LA, departed this life suddenly on Monday, May 25, 2026, at the age of 67. She was born on November, 17, 1958 to the late Willie Charles Harris Sr. and the late Carrie Harris-Williams. Glenda was educated in the New Orleans Public School System, which is where she met her husband, the late Pernell Simmons Sr. Glenda gave her life to the Lord at an early age. In her later years she became a member of the Little Zion Baptist Church in Avondale, under the leadership of Pastor Damien Brown, where was a member of the church's choir ministry. Glenda is predeceased by her parents; her husband, and her siblings Willie Charles Harris Sr., Joeann Williams and Vanessa Harris. She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted brother; Edward Henry Harris, a bonus brother; Carlton Henry, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service on Friday, June 12, 2026 at Little Zion Baptist Church, 433 Avondale Garden Rd, Avondale, LA. The visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. followed by a 10 a.m. service. Pastor Damien Brown will officiate and entombment will follow in Restlawn Park Cemetery.
