On Saturday, April 26, 2025 AARP presented Hope Larios of St. Bernard Community Center a donation of $300 for their continuous work in St.Bernard Parish. Donations are also welcomed at the center. Check presented by Leona Galley, AARP President.

Nunez Baseball Offers youth Skills Camps for Ages 7-12

Young baseball players aged 7-12 will have several opportunities to sharpen their skills this summer under the guidance of Nunez Community College Baseball players and coaches.The Nunez Baseball Youth Skills Camp holds its first session June 16 and continues through July 3.

Alumni of Andrew Jackson Fundamental Magnet High School gathered together to celebrate the 30 year anniversary class reunion during Jazz Fest Weekend. Attendees were greeted by food, memories and fun during the three-day event and enjoyed a boat ride along the Mississippi on the Creole Queen.

On Friday, March 28, 2025 Stephen and Krista Vinson, welcomed their son, Liam Matthew Vinson, into the world. Liam was born at Slidell Memorial Hospital at 4:11 p.m. weighing 7 pounds 11 ounces and was 20.5 inches in length. Mr. and Mrs. Vinson also have two sons, Ethan and Noah, who welcomed their new brother into the world. Maternal grandparents are Harold (Joey) Bernard Jr. and Angela Bernard. Paternal grandparents are Charles Vinson and Lisa Vinson. Godparents are Priscilla Ducote and Glenn Ellis IV.

St. Bernard Sheriff James Pohlmann and members of the Sheriff’s Office joined volunteers Friday, March 21 to support St. Bernard Parish special-needs students as they took center stage at the St. Bernard Parish Public School System’s 2025 Louisiana Special Olympics.
