Alternative 12 is the longest of the three proposed routes at 8.9 miles and would allow trucks to avoid using major parish roads.

Alternative 22 is the preferred route of the parish government. It is the second longest route of the three proposals at 8.1 miles, would have a railway run alongside it, and mostly avoid all the major parish roadways.
Alternative 25 is the shortest of the three proposed elevated highway routes. It is only 4.7 miles long and would require truck trac to utilize existing roadways.
The study includes two railway alignments. One of these routes utilizes existing railway infrastructure while the other takes it away from that infrastructure.
