Chalmette Athlete Wins Two Medals at Amateur Athletic Union National Taekwondo Championship
33-year-old Pawan Kumar of Chalmette, Louisiana, recently earned a gold medal in Continuous Sparring and a silver medal in the Under 80 kg Olympic Sparring division at the 2026 Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) National Taekwondo Championship, held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from June 28 to July 4, 2026. He was the only athlete from Louisiana to compete at this year’s national championship.
