Darlene H. Babineaux passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024 at the age of 83. She is preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie J. Babineaux, her parents George R. Hilton, Jr. and Edith Godfrey Hilton, and her brother, George R. Hilton, III. Loving mother to Tanya B. Dahmer (Michael), Tricia B. Scheuermann (Mark) and Tarah B. Gordes (George). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Corrie (John), Ashley (Anthony), Kelsie (Joseph), Austin (Rachel), Kendall (Ben), Colin and Claire and her eight great-grandchildren. Darlene was born in New Orleans, La., on February 7, 1941. She was a former resident of St Bernard Parish and resided in St Tammany Parish since Hurricane Katrina. She had a passion for cooking and baking. She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her, and she loved her family deeply and enjoyed spending time with them. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Mass on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the E J Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Ave., in Covington, La., and the visitation will begin at 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
