It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jaime Anibal Rodas, beloved father, husband, uncle, friend and son of God. Jaime left us on July 28, 2024 at the age of 71, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength. Born on July 31, 1952, in San Marcos, Guatemala, Jaime was known for his unwavering dedication to his family, his tireless work ethic, and his generous spirit. He spent many years working diligently in his profession, where he was respected and admired by colleagues and clients alike. His commitment to his work was only surpassed by his dedication to his family.
Jaime married the love of his life, Suyapa Benitez Rodas, in May 1994, and together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was a devoted father to Genesis Margarita Rodas and Jorge Miguel Rodas who will forever remember his wisdom, guidance, and unconditional love. A man of great faith and integrity, Jaime was actively involved in his community and church, where he made lasting contributions and formed lifelong friendships. His kind heart and willingness to help others were evident in everything he did. Jaime had a passion for photography and spreading the word of God, which he enjoyed sharing with his family and friends. Whether it was at church or as a minister, with the latin community as well as volunteering as part of the Mennonite Disaster Service, or simply spending time with loved ones, he brought joy and warmth to every occasion.
He is survived by his loving wife, Suyapa Benitez Rodas, his children, Genesis Margarita Rodas, Jorge Miguel Rodas, Gabriella Ivette Rodas Castillo, Jaime Rodas Castillo, Evelyn Julissa Rodas Castillo, Wendy Magaly Rodas Castillo, and his siblings Nery Froilan Rodas, Nestor Leonel Rodas, Fredy Neptaly Rodas, Arnoldo Romeo Rodas, Holguier Ariel Rodas, Rigoberto Otoniel Rodas, Eneyda Violeta Rodas. He is preceded in death by Rigoberto Ramon Rodas de León, Bernarda Felisa Viuda de Rodas, Irma Oralia Rodas Pablo, Efren Amilcar Rodas. A memorial service to celebrate Jaime Anibal Rodas' life will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Torre Fuerte Church, 1401 East Judge Perez Dr., in Chalmette, La. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Iglesia Torre Fuerte in his memory.
