Darlene Vanderbrook, age 73, departed this life into God's presence on Thursday, August 20, 2026. Darlene was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who brought warmth and joy to everyone fortunate enough to know her. She had an easygoing spirit and a go with the flow nature that made her a comforting and joyful presence in the lives of others. Darlene treasured the time she spent with her girlfriends, creating memories filled with laughter, friendship, and love. Above all, her family was her greatest joy. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and extended family, and those moments will be remembered and treasured forever. A true New Orleans Saints fan, Darlene loved watching the games and cheering on her team. Her love for family, friendship, and the simple joys of life made her truly special. Darlene will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her. Her loving heart, easygoing nature, and beautiful memories will remain with them always. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marilyn and Eugene Steel, Sr. and her brother, Eugene 'Stan' Steele, Jr. Left to forever cherish Darlene's memory, her loving husband of 40 years, Edward 'Buzzy' J. Vanderbrook III; one daughter, Angele Guidry; one son, Edward Vanderbrook IV (Kellie); two grandsons, Marshall W. Foust and Edward Vanderbrook V; one brother, Darryl Steele (Jackie) and two nieces, Kristi Durapau (Dustin) and Kellie Steele. Friends and family are invited to attend Darlene's Graveside Service at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church Cemetery, 379 W Seneca Rd, Lumberton, Mississippi, on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 12:00 pm. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026 from 9:00 am until 11:00 at White Funeral Home, 315 Hwy 11 South, Poplarville, Mississippi. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes to have donations made to the American Cancer Society.
