Cynthia “Cindy” Schloegel, age 79, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a family who will forever hold her close in their hearts. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Cindy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert T. Schloegel Sr., and her daughter, Victoria A. Schloegel; her parents, Roy Edward Barbay and Dolores Rose Barbay; her brother, Roy Barbay. She is survived by her son, Robert T. Schloegel Jr. (Gwen); her grandchildren Brett, Christopher (Katelan); her great grandchildren, Cara, Carson, Nolan, Gracie, Addyson and Kayn; her siblings, Michael Barbay (Maria) and Margie Huges (Charlie) and nieces and nephews, who will carry her memory with them always. Cindy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved watching television and movies, enjoying trips to the casino, and, most of all, cooking delicious meals for her family. Her kitchen was often a place filled with wonderful aromas, laughter, and memories that her loved ones will treasure for years to come. Cindy greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a proud grandmother to two grandchildren and a loving great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren. They brought tremendous happiness to her heart, and she treasured every moment she shared with them. Though she has left this world, her love, warmth, and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered forever. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, from 9:00 AM- 11:00 AM. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
