This August marks 20 years since Hurricane Katrina forever changed our region. In recognition of this anniversary, United Way of Southeast Louisiana is hosting a series of service projects that bring people together in the spirit of recovery, preparedness, and hope.

Francois deLery Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, past Regent Gayle Buckley (R) recently presented former Chaplain Christine Morrison (L) with a certificate and pin for Excellence in Community Service. Christine hosts poetry writing sessions at her assisted living facility and does online work with the Franciscans. Christine is a former resident of Chalmette.
