Goggan, who is self publishing the book, hopes to make it a series and personally autographed copies of the book he sold after the meeting. Goggan, who was teaching in Jeerson Parish before Hurricane Katrina, started teaching in St. Bernard Parish when schools first opened with on 'unified' school and has been a teacher in the parish since.

Parish Teacher Publishes Historical Fiction Novella on Hurricane Katrina

A Chalmette High School teacher and local St. Bernard Parish resident George Goggan recently self-published his first book: a children’s story of historical fiction about Hurricane Katrina and how faith helped get people through the disaster that struck the region over 20 years ago.
