50th Anniversary Los Isleños Fiesta Scheduled for March 7 and 8

Los Isleños Heritage and Cultural Society of St. Bernard will begin the celebration of its 50th anniversary with Los Isleños Fiesta 2026. The festival is scheduled for the weekend of March 7th – 8th, 2026 at Los Isleños Museum Complex, 1345 – 1357 Bayou Road, St. Bernard, LA 70085.

Rep. Bayham Joins Legislative Commerce, Insurance, Agriculture Committees

St. Bernard Parish State Representative Mike Bayham (District 103) has been reassigned to the House of Representatives’ legislative committees on Commerce, Insurance, and Agriculture, Forestry, Aquaculture, and Rural Development.

University of Holy Cross to Host Free, In-Person Tax Help Event on Feb. 21

As part of Entergy’s Super Tax Day initiative, the University of Holy Cross (UHC) will host a free tax assistance event for qualifying Entergy customers and New Orleans-area residents on Saturday, Feb. 21, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This past Saturday the Knights of Nemesis (founded in 2004) rolled through the streets of St. Bernard Parish. This is the one and only carnival parade to grace our community. But it wasn’t always like this.

A recent trip to the east coast to visit a grandson gave me a chance to partake and enjoy Maine seafood, particularly the bountiful supply of lobster. Now, coming from the Bayou State with the best seafood in the nation, my standards are high.

Have you ever had to return something you purchased? As a general rule, you must have the receipt, returned in a limited amount of time with everything that came with the item, and a reason for returning. Big retailers like Walmart are reasonable about returns.
