Thomas 'Tom' J. Rao, Jr., of Slidell, La., passed away peacefully at home with his family at his bedside, on September 6, 2023 at the age of 72. On May 1, 1951, Tom was 'born in Chalmette, but left the next day,' growing up in Algiers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas J. Rao Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Hodges Rao.
