PatriciaCastaing Noote, a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend went to her eternal rest peacefully on October 7, 2024 at the age of 84. Formally of New Orleans; she resided in Arabi for the past 35 years. Her husband - and life’s dance partner William J. Noote Sr., who preceded her in death, was with her in spirit in her final days. Known for her zestful sense of humor, Patricia brought joy and laughter to those who knew her. She will be remembered for her loving spirit, love of family and friends and a good-natured, generous heart which she shared with those around her. Her legacy will continue to inspire all of us who loved her. Patricia was a devoted Christian and a long-time parishioner of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was also the recipient of the St. Louis Medallion Award for her services.
She was a faithful member of The National Shrine of Blessed Francis Seelos, as she traveled to those in need of home prayer and relic blessings in honor of Fr. Seelos. Additionally, Patricia was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church in Chalmette. She was also a proud member and former president of the Ladies Auxiliary of The Knights of Columbus's Archbishop Rummel Council #5747. She truly loved her sisters and brothers of the Council. Pat is the daughter of the late Pierre P. Castaing and Beatrice Mercier Castaing. She is preceded in death by her son, William J. Noote Jr., daughter Donna Noote Rocher, son-inlaw Glenn Rocher Sr. and daughter-inlaw Suzanne P. Noote. She was the baby sister of the late Dorothy C. Brossette, Shirley C. Alphonso, Esther C. Chauppetta, Ann C. Kelley, Louise Castaing, Jack Castaing Sr., Pierre Castaing, Joseph Castaing Sr., and Ernest Castaing.
She is survived by her children, Jude J. Noote Sr. (Jeff), Laurie Noote Karlow and son-in-law William Karlow. Grandchildren Glenn P. Rocher Jr, Melissa Rocher Brandt (John), Jude Noote Jr. (Heidi), Sarah Karlow Alidor (Erik), and Marie Noote (Ryan). Great-Grandchildren Jude Noote III, Jordin Noote, Parker Caygle, Addison Nauss, E.J. Alidor, Jack Ross, Donna Ann Ross and soonto- be Willow Rae Alidor. Sister-in-law of Patricia N. Hutchenson, aunt of nephew Ernest Castaing, great-niece Jennifer K. Killian, along with a host of family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by a Memorial Mass starting at 12 p.m. noon on Friday, October 18, 2024 to be held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, 2320 Paris Rd., in Chalmette, La.
