David Thomas Froeba, affectionately known as “Froeba” to his many friends, passed away on August 28, 2026, surrounded by the family he loved so dearly. Born on February 24, 1963, David was the cherished son of the late Thomas Ralph Froeba and Alice Mae Rareshide Froeba. His generous spirit, easy laughter, and gift for making others feel welcome will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him. At the center of David’s life was his family. He shared 38 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Cherie Berry Froeba, his loving partner through all of life’s joys and seasons. He was an endlessly proud and devoted father to Whitney Froeba Condon (Benjamin) and Michael David Froeba (Kate), and being “Buddy” to his five precious grandchildren—Elizabeth Condon, James Froeba, Callahan Condon and the newest additions August Condon, and William Froeba—who brought him immeasurable happiness. David was also the loving brother of Susan Frolich (Kim), Beth Seamon (Ray), Julie Riedl (Greg), and Kathy Walsh (Mark), and his late twin brother, Michael Froeba. His loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless dear friends will miss his warmth, his humor, and the unmistakable joy he brought to every gathering. David carried his Chalmette roots proudly. A Chalmette Vista Eagle and graduate of Chalmette High School, he was fondly remembered as the fastest guy in St. Bernard Parish. He went on to build a rewarding career in the food industry that spanned more than 30 years, forming lasting friendships along the way. David found great joy on the golf course with his closest friends on the Brad Tour and Wannabe, and he poured his heart into organizing the Buppa Memorial each year in loving tribute to his father. Yet nothing meant more to David than time spent with family and friends. The camp held a special place in his heart—a place filled with laughter, stories, and the simple happiness of being together. Some of his most treasured moments were there, with a cold beer in hand, a tray of boiled crabs on the table, and a beautiful sunset shared with the people he loved most. Family and friends are warmly invited to come together to celebrate David’s life and the love he shared so freely at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1643 Metairie Road, Metairie, LA 70005, on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at noon. David will then be laid to rest at St. Roch Cemetery No. 1 in New Orleans, LA.
