In the morning of Friday, March 21, the St. Bernard Parish Government (SBPG) called for an evacuation of homes along Jacob Drive from the 3400 block (at the canal) to the 3800 block near Magistrate Drive. According to the various updates posted on the SBPG Facebook page, this was due to a gas leak that “bled into the sewer system and was venting out of the manholes and street drains.”...
