Funeral Mass for Donald Martin Nunez, age 92, of Carriere, MS, who passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2026, will be held Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 11:00 am at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 25, 2026 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home. Father Bernard Papania will officiate the service. A native of St. Bernard, LA, he was a Engineer and a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Donald was a very gentle and loving husband and father. He loved his family and dear friends. Camping and traveling were some of his favorite memories, making a lot of wonderful friends along the way. Donald will be deeply missed by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon Nunez, Sr. and Agnes Serigne Nunez; siblings, Leon Nunez, Jr., August Nunez, Nelson Nunez, Sr., Agnes Licciardi and Leona Prats. Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 72 years, Jeannette Marie Nunez; children, Melanie (George) Schmidt, Kelly (Marlene) Nunez, Sr., and Sharon (Paul) Drake, 6 grandchildren, Shannon (Benny) Pentney, Dana Landry, Kelly (Kristin) Nunez, Jr., Jonathan (Diana) Lafuentas, Nick Drake, and Seth (Maegan) Drake; 9 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
