A set of free rolling concerts had music everywhere and people dancing in the parking lots of Chalmette on Friday, April 27. Performing live from the back of a flatbed truck, pianist Tim Buie, drummer Ian Petillo, saxophonist Alex Canales and vocalist Line May Buie helped spread love and hope during this unprecedented time where Stay-at-Home orders, social distancing and isolation have become the new normal during the COVID-19 pandemic. “I just want to bring some happiness to St. Bernard, to lift the spirits of our community; that’s why I’m doing this,” described Tim Buie of Chalmette. Buie, a two-time Guinness World Records holder and piano entertainer has performed in over 40 countries and across the United States. The two-hour tour began at J&K Pawn and Jewelry and later continued to Sidney Torres Park, Jean Lafitte Parkway and into local neighborhoods. Photos by Amber Prattini Wallo
