For over 50 years, Doris Voitier dedicated herself to the St. Bernard School District, serving as a teacher, administrator, and Superintendent. In that time, Voitier has seen the district undergo numerous changes and lead its recovery process in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

Doris Voitier attended her final St. Bernard Parish School Board meeting as Superintendent on June 23. While it is not her last day as Superintendent—that won’t be until June 30—this meeting was the final time Voitier oversaw board members' vote on legislation to change policy that influences how the school system operates. And, as with most meetings run by Voitier, it went smoothly.
