After an over 4-decade-long career in law enforcement, St. Bernard Parish Sheriff James “Jimmy” Pohlmann has announced his retirement. Pohlmann’s time with the Sheriff’s Office—where he spent his entire career—will offi cially end on November 1. Chief Deputy Richard Baumy will serve as interim Sheriff until an election can be scheduled, allowing parish voters to decide on the next Sheriff.
