Council Denies Ordinance to Implement Buffer Against Industrial Development

At the first meeting in October for the St. Bernard Parish Government (SBPG), council members shot down an ordinance proposed by council member at large east Fred Everhardt by an overwhelming 1-6 vote. The ordinance in question, if passed, would have prevented industrial development within 500 feet of any school or “other educational facility.”
