    On July 23, the Chalmette Ferry Terminal was dedicated to honor the life and legacy of Mike Ginart, Jr a former parish council member and prominent local attorney who passed away in November 2025. Going forward, the terminal will officially be named the Michael C. Ginart, Jr. Ferry Terminal.
