25 YEARS AGO • Sonny and Jewell Knobloch and Rene and Betty Dauterive have just returned from an adventurous cruise around Cape Horn. They set out from Buenos Aires, Argentina, and ended in Santiago, Chile.

Second Annual Play/Write Showcase in St. Bernard to be Held on April 24

Goat in the Road Productions (GRP) and the Meraux Foundation are excited to announce the second annual Play/Write Showcase in St. Bernard Parish on Wednesday, April 24 at 7 p.m. at the Nunez Community College Auditorium (3710 Paris Rd., Chalmette).

Undefeated OLPS Senior Boys Basketball Team Wins City Championship

The undefeated Patriots from Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic School in Chalmette won the Conference Play-offs and then the City Championship for senior boys basketball in the Catholic School Athletic League. “It was an amazing season,” Athletic Director Kathy Scheuermann said.

CALLING IT HOME: Time May Be Short But It Keeps Going

Over the past decade, I have shared many times of personal joy and sorrow within the St. Bernard community. Recently after writing a memorial for a lady who lived a long and good life into her late nineties, I realized there is a time stamp on everyone.
