Rosina “Rose” Seifker Sandrock

Rosina “Rose” Seifker Sandrock passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at the home of Steven and Melissa Sandrock, in Metairie, LA at 2:33 a.m. on the day of The Feast of the Assumption, known as the Falling Asleep of the Mother of God; at the age of 85. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that she had touched in some way throughout her life. Rose was the cherished wife of the late Balzer Conrad Sandrock Sr. Daughter of the late Henry Fredrick Seifker and Agnes Frances Thompson. Sister of the late Henry Jude Seifker. Niece of the late Reese and Rita Tripkovich. She is survived and fondly remembered by her beloved children Balzer Sandrock Jr. (Terrie), Suzanne Zibetti (Laius), Brenda Morgan (and her son Blain) and Steven Sandrock (Melissa), along with her nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Rose was born in New Orleans, LA on December 31, 1932. She found pleasure in the details of everyday life and caring deeply for others. She enjoyed her association with Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, attending the services at church and participating at the school fairs. She was passionate about a good bowl of gumbo. In her earlier years she enjoyed fishing, crabbing and attending family gatherings at water front camps and in her later years, she enjoyed watching game shows and visiting with family. Rose will always be remembered for her loyalty and dedication to her family and her church, her loving spirit and laughter. She will be deeply missed by us all. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, 2320 Paris Rd., Chalmette, LA Monday, August 27, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by a Memorial Mass beginning at 12 p.m. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
