Rene Joseph Arcement III

Rene Joseph Arcement III, a veteran of the U.S. Navy who proudly served his country, passed away peacefully at his home while surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the age of 76. He was the beloved husband of 24 years to Marie Hebert Arcement. Loving father of Gaynel Baham (Dewayne), Pam Wright (Harold Jr.) and Julie Kinler (Edward Sr.). Proud grandfather of Tabitha Landry (David), Amanda Daigle (Dustan), Lindsey and Shelby Baham, Harold III, Kevin, Matthew and Mekayla Wright, Edward Jr., Katie and Brandon Kinler. Great grandfather of David Jr. and Kynlee Landry, Daegan and Adley Daigle, Preston, Kaylee, Joey, Skyler and Karson Wright. Son of the late Rene Arcement Jr. and Camella Asevado Arcement. Brother of Gerald Arcement, Betty Simmons (Offie) and Patricia Dennis (Roger). Adopted father of Lisa Soileau (Charles) and her children Jodi, Charlie and Caden. He is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Rene was born on January 6, 1938 in New Orleans, LA, and a 50-year resident of St. Bernard Parish, currently residing in Osyka, MS. He enjoyed a long career in the Ship to Shore Personal Transportation Business, following his Navy service. He will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal husband, father, grandfather and a friend to many, who loved his country and treasured his family. Relatives and friends were invited to attend a visitation that was held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, followed by a celebration of his life.
